How a small UI update solved my long term issue?

Android Status Bar (Old)

Since I stay out of my home cellular network(Outside Chennai), I always had an issue knowing my Internet Connectivity (This was because Cellular Networks have always kept Chennai & Tamil Nadu as two separate networks).

Nothing had fixed the issue, even after my attempt visiting Airtel Showroom for converting my sim to Tamil Nadu network from Chennai network which would partially solve my problem. But instead I was stuck with the “R” forever.

Android Status Bar (New)

Nothing actually worked until the recent ‘Android 7.1.2’ update which fixed my long awaited need.

When it comes to user experience, it is much needed to look deeper into the requirements and in solving the actual user needs. There are many such microscopic details to watch-out. Solving user needs require deeper understanding of the use cases and one shouldn’t see from a bird’s-eye view but instead on a microscopic view.

Life is in the detail & every minute detail counts.
